We are now recruiting new members! Please fill out the application form by the priority deadline of Sunday October 10th if you'd like to join our team :)
Food Forward is a nonprofit organization based in Southern California fighting food waste and food insecurity by recovering fruits and vegetables from backyard fruit trees, public orchards, farmers markets, and the downtown Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. Swipe Out Hunger partners with Food Forward in Gleaning, this practice of recovering excess produce. Our team members go to Brentwood Farmers Market on Sunday afternoons to pick up boxes of food and then take them to University Village, where many graduate students live with their families, and Cafe 580, a free food resource for students located inside St. Alban’s Episcopal Church at 580 Hilgard Ave.
Covid Update: Activities operate under CDC/WHO guidelines.
